Union - Metal Wall Art

Thirteen stripes, cut all the way through.

Union is the flag and nothing else. Each stripe is an open slot in the steel, terminating inside a solid border that holds the whole panel together. Fifty five-pointed stars are cut clean through a solid canton. There's no print, no vinyl, no color coat — the contrast you see is metal against the shadow behind it.

Bent edges stand it an inch and a quarter off the wall. In raking light the slots throw thirteen hard lines onto the plaster behind, and they move as the day does.
